Our Differentiators

Asia Business Center

Haas School of Business

The Asia Business Center is currently operating limited programming for the 2015-16 academic year. The Wu Fellows Program and the CELAP Exchange Program remain and will continue to be the two core activities of the center. All other activities are on hold, as we have chosen to make this a year of reflection and strategic planning. Since our founding in 2007, we are proud of the work we have done bridging the education and leadership gap between the United States and Asia. Professor Ho continues as the Editor-in-Chief of the prestigious Management Science journal.

The visionary concept of a business college at the University of California was first proposed by Arthur Rodgers, a Berkeley graduate and well-traveled business professional. In his 1883 commencement address, he envisioned:

"The Occident and the Orient, the past and the present, will here commingle their culture and the Pacific will be illuminated from Berkeley."

The Asia Business Center builds on Rodgers' initial vision by joining the East and West to create a sum greater than each part.

The ABC develops high-impact programs and forges strategic partnerships between University of California, Berkeley and reputable institutions in Asia to provide excellence and leadership in management education and research.

We serve the following countries: China (including Hong Kong and Taiwan), India, Indonesia, Korea, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.
