The Asia Business Center at the Haas School of Business works with Asian institutions including universities and government agencies to help train leaders in their home countries. The ABC has started with the mainland China region.
This highly competitive fellows program sponsors promising leaders from China to attend the Berkeley Executive Leadership Program run by UC Berkeley's Haas School of Business. The leaders are selected jointly by ABC and its strategic partners in China, both from business and government communities. The curriculum addresses how to lead and execute change and turn opportunity into growth and action. In addition, the fellows have a great opportunity to network with professors at the Haas School of Business as well as with business leaders in the Bay Area.
The Wu Fellows Program was founded by a generous contribution from Mr. Hsioh Kwang Wu, CEO of Straco Industries, and Asia Business Center Advisory Board Member.
Academic, business, and government leaders are selected to travel to Berkeley for a nine month period in either beginning the Fall or Spring semesters. During this time, the participants will attend open enrollment classes provided by the Center for Executive Education.
Through classroom and experiential learning, each participant leaves the program equipped to become an effective leader in their home institution.
Fellows will interact through lectures and seminars with world-renowned researchers on the Berkeley campus, host to seven Nobel Prize winners and over 200 fellows of the Academies of Sciences and Engineering.
Additionally, fellows are encouraged to visit highly successful companies in the Bay Area to observe first-hand how effective leaders lead. The collective human resources in the area is unsurpassed.
The alumni of each program will become a part of the Network of Scholars. This network will be invited to participate in the ABC's leadership speaker series, cutting-edge research, and future UC Berkeley endeavors.
